Read on to discover the specific Covid-19 regulations for attending different shows on Broadway.

Broadway Shows Have a New Look This Year

With the widespread administration of Covid-19 vaccines, many people are beginning to go about their day-to-day activities, and that includes attending shows. While shows on Broadway are gearing up to entertain their audiences, there are new regulations in place to ensure the safety of the performers and audience members alike. Different shows and theatres have different regulations, so here are all of the specific requirements for clarification:

What Happens If Someone Tests Positive

While positive cases are less of a concern now that most New Yorkers are vaccinated, mitigating the spread of Covid-19 is still important. While the person with Covid-19 self-isolates, staff will clean the venue they attended, and anyone who was at risk for exposure will be contact traced. While shows will try to keep going in the event of a positive case, it may become necessary to cancel shows if enough of the staff or cast tests positive. In that case, the show may go dark until the cast and staff are able to safely quarantine and ensure they are not infected.
